Report: TED NUGENT Sues Town Over Canceled Concert … Again
June 19, 2004Bill Iddings of The Muskegon Chronicle reports: After [Ted Nugent's] federal lawsuit against the Muskegon Summer Celebration music festival was dismissed, [the guitarist] has filed another suit in the state court.
His new lawsuit in 12th Circuit Court in Jackson contends the same thing as his federal complaint: that Nugent's reputation and career suffered when Summer Celebration canceled his June 30, 2003, concert at Heritage Landing. It also alleges breach of contract.
Summer Celebration dropped Nugent from its lineup after newspaper reports of a radio interview Nugent had with two Denver disc jockeys. During the interview, Nugent reportedly used racial slurs to refer to African-Americans and Asians.
Summer Celebration officials said the remarks made Nugent an unacceptable act for a family-oriented festival. Read more.
